Becoming a Psychologist
I believe you must bring your whole self to the table if you want to thrive in today’s world; your personality, your sense of humour, and most importantly, your heart.
All of these elements brought me to where I am today.
Ever since I started to learn about Psychology, i founded the Mental Health Charity Our Minds Matter and met some great people on the way including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (pictured).
I was awarded the Lord Lieutenants community engagement prize at the University of Bedfordshire and also won 'Im a scientist get me out of here' sponsored by the British Psychological Society.
Currently, I am a PhD student, a Health Psychologist in Training and work in a range of settings such as research, practice, strategic and in the voluntary sector.
My day to day role varies which includes mentoring peers, provide behaviour change intervention to individuals and organisations.
I also work in the prison service, helping inmates make healthier choices through goal setting and motivational interviewing.
